School Days...

Hello!

Today I woke up and it was cloudy and gloomy, but it turned out to be a nice 25 degree sunny day! It was a pretty good day, besides class until 6:30 pm... :(

This week I might not be able to blog much but I will try to keep up and be back in full force next week! I have to go home Friday for my grandma's funeral, and then we are going to a wedding Saturday. The upside is I will have some variety in my style posts for you!

One Class Monday

Hi guys!

Today is Monday, blehhhh! It actually isn't that bad for me, I only have one class today right in the morning. So it helps me get up and get going then I can come home and do something productive. But anyways... it is supposed to be 22 degrees out today so I thought I could try to be a bit more summery!

I kind of look like a goof in this picture, but I was getting sick of trying to get a really good one! HA my bad I guess.

Chili and Cornbread

Hola!

I feel like being mexican today. Mostly because I love mexican food!!! Last night I made my famous chilli, with some delicious cornbread to go with. I'm not going to lie, it was amazing! I am pretty sure it cured both our hangovers from the night before. :)

CHILI!!

Sauteing the veggies

My man cutting some peppers!

All mixed, ready to get slow cooked!

Finished product. Mmmm.

This recipe is pretty easy. I usually just throw in whatever I have on hand but there are a couple things I always NEED to put in my chili. Here is the recipe as I made it last night.

2 medium onions, diced
1 stock of celery, sliced
2 tablespoons of minced garlic (couple cloves)
4 carrots, sliced
2 bell peppers, chopped into bite size pieces
2 cans of sliced mushrooms, drained
1 can of corn, drained
3 cans of diced tomatoes
1 can of maple style beans, slightly drained
1 pound of ground beef
bunch of seasoning salt
bunch of montreal steak spice
bunch of red pepper spice
couple tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce
couple tablespoons of Frank's Red Hot Sauce
1 tablespoon of chilli powder (more or less, depending how spicy you want yours)

Start by sauteing the onions in a pan with some olive oil. Once clear throughout, add garlic, celery and carrots. Cook another couple minutes. I don't like my veggies too soggy so I keep pretty crunchy as they will soften in chilli. Pour 2 cans of diced tomatoes into slow cooker or big pot, add cooked veggies. Start browning the meat in a pan. Add the peppers, cans of mushrooms, corn, beans and spices. Once meat is cooked, add to rest of ingredients. If there is still room add last can of tomatoes. Make sure all spices are added and begin to cook. After a couple hours, taste and add more seasoning if you prefer, then eat up!

CORNBREAD!

This cornbread was really good! It was pretty sweet, but I really enjoyed it. You can find the recipe HERE. I did make a change and put in 1 1/2 cup of cornmeal and then 1 1/2 and 1/3 cup of flour, because I wanted it to be more corny and didn't want to screw up the amount of dry ingredients. It turned out really good and I will be making it again!!!

Hope everyone has a great monday filled with FOOD! :)

Night Out

Bonjour!

Last night, Josh and I went to a house party and then to the bar! Well it's more like a club, but you get the idea. I felt pretty chilly all day so decided to wear something that would keep me warm. Needless to say it was a bad idea and I was sweating all night! I gotta keep these outfits for winter, but I'm just so excited for fall/winter clothing!! I'm sure I'll regret saying that later! HA!

It gets pretty dark in our apartment and sadly the picture didn't quite come out with the proper colours. My shirt was not black and neither were my boots!! :( I took a picture of the shirt so you could see I really wasn't just wearing a completely black outfit!

Hope you all have a great Sunday!!

My first style post

Heeey friends!

This is my first style post! I am really excited about this!! Now if you know me, you know I am really all about looking good while not trying to hard. For class days I am really going to try to pull this off. I really want to avoid wearing sweats (not including yoga pants or leggings). Of course there might be one of those mornings where I am super tired, or even worse, late, and it might happen. I want to create ideas for other people who are stuck in the morning, as well as create some new inspiration, for myself.

I will also be posting my other looks besides just going to class. I will post for nights out, date night and anything really. I want to get my whole idea of the college lifestyle clothing and style out on here. I will try to incorporate trends and not get into ruts! College is all about fun and we need to have fun with our style! This is really the only time we can get away with wearing what we want! No rules! This is the life, my only rule for myself, stay classy!

So, today was one of those "not sure if it is going to be cold or not" days. It was also a "I want fall!" day. Since it was kind of gloomy and cloudy out I thought I would wear something comfy. Isn't that what college is all about? Minus sweats of course.

Black Tank Top: Garage
Blue skinny jeans: Gap
I also wore some silver flats from Aldo, and my black/grey leather jacket from Le Chateau.

I hope y'all enjoy this as much as I enjoy doing it! :)

Cheesy, Bacon, Spaghetti Squash Casserole

Hey there!

Tonight for supper I made cheesy, bacon, spaghetti squash casserole, and trust me, it was GOOD!! Josh (my wonderful boyfriend) and I both really enjoyed it and had seconds! It had a total "comfort food" feel but without all the fat and calories.

I didn't take a picture of it on my plate because, well it didn't look very pretty. It did however taste amazing!

I got this recipe off of "Family Fresh Cooking", I really love this website. It has all kinds of delicious but healthy recipes. It also has a lot of vegetarian and vegan recipes which we try to cook at least once a week for meatless monday! You can click HERE for the recipe!

I used turkey bacon and more like 1 cup of cheese, I also layered some cheese on the first layer as well as the top. Let me know if you try it out!! :)
